1. Introduction

Welcome to TabGen.ai ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our audio processing and music separation service.

By using TabGen.ai, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of our service:

2.1 Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password.
  • Payment Information: When you subscribe to our paid plans, we collect payment information through our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.
  • Profile Information: Any additional information you choose to provide in your user profile.

2.2 Audio Files and Content

  • Uploaded Audio: Audio files you upload for processing, including metadata such as file names and formats.
  • Processed Output: Separated audio stems and transcriptions generated by our service.
  • User Edits: Any modifications you make to the generated tablature or transcriptions.

2.3 Usage Information

  • Log Data: Information about your interactions with our service, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Device Information: Information about the device you use to access our service.
  • Analytics Data: Usage patterns, feature usage, and performance metrics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve our audio processing and music separation services.
  • Account Management: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide customer support.
  • Payment Processing: To process subscription payments and manage billing.
  • Communication: To send you service-related notifications, updates, and marketing communications (with your consent).
  • Analytics and Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, improve our algorithms, and enhance user experience.
  • Security: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Abuse Prevention: To prevent misuse of free-tier quotas through duplicate account creation, using cryptographic hashes of email addresses (legitimate interest basis under GDPR).
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.

4. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS and at rest using industry-standard encryption.
  • Access Controls: We restrict access to personal information to authorized personnel only.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for secure cloud storage and processing.
  • Data Retention: We retain your audio files and processed output for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion, unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Abuse Prevention: When you create an account, we generate a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of a normalized form of your email address and store it in a separate registry. This hash cannot be reversed to recover your email address. It is used solely to prevent duplicate accounts and re-registration abuse. If you delete your account, this hash is retained for up to one year and then automatically deleted. See Section 6 for your rights regarding this data.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, cloud hosting, analytics).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information with your explicit consent for specific purposes.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information and uploaded content. Note: a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address is retained for up to one year after account deletion to prevent service abuse, then automatically deleted. This hash cannot be used to recover your email address.
  • Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the legal basis.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@tabgen.ai.
